The Retina Clinic London is delighted to welcome Mr Christos Koutsidis, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic Surgeon, to its specialist clinical team.

With more than 10 years of international clinical experience across the UK, Greece, Germany and Russia, Mr Koutsidis brings broad expertise in cataract surgery, anterior segment disease, medical retina, uveitis and complex ophthalmic care. His appointment further strengthens the clinic’s multidisciplinary approach, supporting patients who require detailed diagnostic assessment, careful treatment planning and highly personalised care.

At The Retina Clinic London, Mr Koutsidis will work alongside Professor Paulo Eduardo Stanga and the wider specialist team, contributing to the clinic’s integrated model of retinal and ophthalmic care. His clinical interests include cataract surgery, intraocular lens complications, medical retinal disease, uveitis, medical glaucoma, corneal disease and dry eye disorders.

Mr Koutsidis provides private cataract surgery, including the management of complex cataracts and intraocular lens-related concerns. His approach is detailed and individualised, taking into account each patient’s eye health, lifestyle and visual priorities when planning treatment and selecting lens options.

Patients benefit from The Retina Clinic London’s advanced diagnostic imaging and access to a range of intraocular lens technologies, including monofocal, monofocal plus, toric and extended depth of focus lenses. This diagnostic depth allows the team to assess not only the cataract itself, but also the retina, macula and wider eye health before surgery is considered.

Alongside his surgical work, Mr Koutsidis has a strong background in retinal imaging and medical retina. He completed fellowship training in Medical Retina and Vitreoretinal Imaging at The Retina Clinic London under Professor Paulo Eduardo Stanga, and has contributed to international clinical research in geographic atrophy, age-related macular degeneration, Stargardt disease and inherited retinal disease.

Known for his calm, meticulous and reassuring approach, Mr Koutsidis is committed to providing thoughtful care for patients with both routine and complex eye conditions, working as part of a team that combines specialist expertise, advanced imaging and a highly personalised patient journey.

“I am delighted to join The Retina Clinic London and to work alongside such an internationally respected team. What drew me to the clinic is its commitment to combining advanced diagnostics, surgical precision, innovation and truly personalised care. I look forward to supporting patients with cataract, retinal and complex ophthalmic conditions, using the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies available.”
