Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO): Clinical Features, Current Management & Future Developments

Live online | Wednesday 26th November 2025 | 6:00–7:00 PM (UK)

We’re delighted to welcome Professor Paulo-Eduardo Stanga (The Retina Clinic London) for an interactive CPD-accredited webinar exploring the latest thinking in the diagnosis and management of retinal vein occlusion (RVO).

Whether you’re working in primary care, shared care, or hospital eye services, this session is designed to give you the confidence to recognise RVO early, understand imaging and treatment pathways, and know when to consider referral for emerging therapies and clinical trials.

  • Date: Wednesday 26th November 2025
  • Time: 6:00–7:00 PM (UK)
  • Format: Live online (interactive)
  • CPD: 1 point
  • Speaker: Professor Paulo-Eduardo Stanga, Consultant Ophthalmologist, The Retina Clinic London

About the Session

This case-led webinar will walk through the real-world decision-making pathway from first presentation to long-term follow-up. Professor Stanga will demonstrate how advanced imaging — including ultra-widefield OCT-Angiography (OCTA) and Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) — informs diagnosis, staging, and monitoring.

Current treatment strategies will be discussed in depth, including:

  • Intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy for cystoid macular oedema (CMO)

  • When retinal laser remains appropriate

  • Practical considerations for shared care between optometrists and ophthalmologists

We’ll also look ahead to what’s next: how clinical trials are shaping future treatments and how to identify suitable candidates in your own practice. Live Q&A throughout.

What You’ll Learn

After attending, you should be able to:

✔ Recognise key clinical signs of branch and central RVO and understand when to refer

✔ Use multimodal imaging (including ultra-widefield OCTA & FFA) to guide management

✔ Understand current treatment options: anti-VEGF therapy, laser, and follow-up considerations

✔ Identify potential clinical trial candidates and discuss emerging therapies with patients

Submit Your Case for Review

Have an interesting or challenging case of RVO? We invite you to submit anonymised cases for live discussion during the session.
